We have some new faces at Grace University. Welcome!
Dr. George Conley, Jr., is our Chief Academic Officer. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Apollos University, Great Falls, MT.
Dr. Conley’s experience includes five years as Adjunct professor at Southwestern College, Chula Vista, CA and Apollos University, teaching courses in business administration, management and leadership, online and in the classroom. He developed teaching strategies that infused technology into lessons to make them more useful and interesting.
A retired US Navy officer, Dr. Conley has decades of experience training and leading teams, analyzing proposals and managing projects in the public and private sectors. In his leadership roles he has advised on environmental issues and enforced safety regulations.
His background and experience in nonprofit foundations adds to his impressive qualifications.
Qing Yang, MLIS, came on board on September 3. She has a Master’s in Library Science from San Jose State University and Master’s in Information Science from Beijing University.
She has experience working in college libraries, notably, UCI Irvine, UC Riverside, and Irvine Valley College libraries. From 2014 to 2019, she was Editor in Chief, at WeSpectrum, Inc., where she wrote, edited and published articles on the WeChat platform, WeIrvine. She was Ads Quality Rater at Workforce Logic, performing advertisement ratings for Google. As Deputy Manager at China National Publications Import and Export Corporation she compiled monthly catalogs and managed bibliographic databases.
Samuel Yang is GU’s Librarian Associate. He has an M. S. in Computer Science from New Mexico State and M.A in Christian Studies (with focus in Counseling and Pastoral Leadership) from Logos Evangelical Seminary, El Monte, CA.
Samuel brings over 20 years of versatile talents, experience, and skills in IT (tech support, web and software development, and database management), inventory control and product marketing. Previously, he worked for Commonwealth of Mass – Department of Workforce Development; OptumRx, a division of UnitedHealth Group, Carlsbad. CA; FileNet Corporation; and Smart and Final Stores, Irvine, CA.
He earned certificates in Fundamentals of Preservation and Excel for Technical Services, from the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS), a division of American Library Association.
